Nicole Richie is really branching out! She has a successful jewelry line (House of Harlow 1960), she's going to design shoes, and now the stylish mommy has designed a collection for the maternity line, A Pea in the Pod. She says, "A Pea in the Pod is such a well known company for pregnant women. They carry great lines, and so when they asked me to create a line for them I was really excited and eager to do it."

Nicole is expecting her second child this month, so she can really knows what her customer is looking for: "you really feel like you have to change your whole wardrobe [when pregnant]. And that's the last thing a woman wants to go through. So I really tried to make this line to get women excited about wearing clothes." What's more, the clothes are affordable (tank tops are $48, dresses are $148), so at a time when life is already starting to get more expensive (cribs ain't cheap), an expectant mama won't feel bad spending a little on herself.

Nicole is basically the pin-up girl for boho chic, so you can expect peasant tops, maxi dresses, and braided details all tailored to accentuate a pregnant woman's body. We like what we see! She was a good choice for this on A Pea in the Pod's behalf, because she's young enough to attract the young mother audience, she has great style, and she knows how to attract the right crowd (Madonna even wore her necklace on the cover of her single, Celebration).

The little lady is happy with the collection, which hits stores Friday, saying "it feels great to see everything come to life. It's the best feeling in the world to have your visions and dreams come together. I'm excited for people to see them. I just hope that people like it."

We think they will!

Congrats!
