The sixth season of Project Runway is promising bigger everything - bigger city, bigger prizes, and bigger guest judges, one of whom is diva supreme Christina Aguilera.
Xtina will guest judge with the "Sultan of Sequins," costume designer Bob Mackie, whose resume boasts costumes for Cher, Pink and Tina Turner. The challenge for the designers will be to create a costume for Christina to wear in concert on tour.
Project Runway executive producer Jane Cha says that the designers "really had to think about it, because it's not their forte. We tap into [Mackie's] archives, so it was very interesting. For the designers, it will be lots of glitz and glam for the stage, and that's very different from American sportswear."
At least one of them was successful stepping out of their comfort zone, as Cha says that Christina "was really happy with the results."
The season six premiere of Project Runway is tonight, August 20, at 10:00pm on Lifetime.
