People are up-in-arms over Michelle Obama's choice to wear shorts while touring the Grand Canyon in Arizona. Critics are pouring out of the woodwork to weigh in on the First Lady's choice to keep her gams cool on the balmy Arizona day.
We really don't see what all the fuss is about. It's August. She was in Arizona. On vacation with her family. We're actually pleased that we have a First Lady who we can relate to, and who considers both function and style when she picks an outfit.
Plus she's got pretty good gams, people!
We also think that the assertion that she should have worn a dress, as many are claiming, is both outdated and sexist. This is 2009!
It's not like they're booty shorts! They're actually fairly modest.
People are claiming that her choice of outfit is embarrassing for America. But really, what's more embarrassing: the fact that our poised, eloquent, Harvard-educated First Lady wore shorts, or that the fact that, in the face of far more pressing issues, we as a collective nation choose, instead, to dwell on how angry we are that the woman wore shorts on a sweltering summer day?
Team Michelle all the way!
P.S. Barack is still majorly disappointing us!
