In addition to LVMH winning $400,000 from Bonini Italian Handbags for counterfeiting Louis Vuitton bags, the luxe brand has just won $32.4 million in another trademark and copyright suit.

In 2007, LVMH filed suit against Akanoc Solutions Inc., Managed Solutions Inc. and Steven Chen, the manager of both firms, for hosting over 75 websites such as Louivuittonbagz.com, which sold illegal counterfeit bags over the internet.

Despite being warned several times by LVMH, Akonoc and Managed Solutions continued to hawk the illegal merchandise, resulting in the ultimate lawsuit. Andy Coombs, LVMH's attorney, said "Louis Vuitton had given the defendents very specific notice of the infringing activity and it hadn't changed."

After a two-week trial and two days of deliberation, last Friday the jury awarded LVMH $31.5 million in damages and $900,000 in copyright violations.

Glad to see the luxury brand is enjoying some success in putting an end to counterfeiting their products!

And all the girls in Chinatown must be happy too. Now they can charge more!
