Betsey Johnson Teams Up With Sharpie For Fashion Week First

This is a pretty interesting and cool collaboration.

Sharpie (yes the marker) has teamed up with Betsey Johnson to put together the first ever Sharpie Bar, which will be under the tents at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in NYC from September 14-16 from 9:30am-2:00pm.

What, you ask, is a Sharpie Bar? Apparently, Sharpie will provide plain white accessories, apparel, etc. on which Fashion Week attendees may create their own designs with the use of Sharpies.

Betsey Johnson is contributing by creating an exclusive Sharpie Shirt which will be given out for free at the Sharpie Bar while supplies last.

Johnson says, "Everything I draw, write, sign, doodle is with a Sharpie marker. These days, the real fashion trend is all about expressing your individual self and style. Sharpie is the perfect tool to do just that, whether on paper, fabric, or other materials."

She will also create a sketch in Sharpie to promote breast cancer awareness. A breast cancer survivor herself, Johnson will donate the sketch to City of Hope, whose research, treatment, and education about breast cancer leads in the field. The canvas will be subsequently in October, with proceeds benefitting the organization.

What's more, Sharpie will design personalized markers for a number of designers for their exclusive use only. The markers will exhibit the designer's logo on the marker, with colors including black, blue, magenta, green, pink, and purple. But don't feel left out, you can create your own personalized Sharpie, too, at MySharpie.com.

Fun!
