Oh no! Mister Manolo Blahnik is biting the hand that feeds him. The skilled shoe-maker recently said that, "If people talk to me about Sex and the City, I get sick…It's sweet but it becomes too much and I don't feel comfortable. I have never wanted to be a celebrity designer."
While we understand that, it was the series that made Blahnik a househould name, which is never bad for business, a fact that he begrudgingly acknowledges: "Well, we had a very good year last year, thanks to those stupid satin shoes [worn by Sarah Jessica Parker in the movie]. That shoe saved our company."
Well then, how about a little gratitude! You can resent the association all you want, but in the press it's probably best to keep it cordial. These are not the times to be hating on anyone who gives you business!
