Worse than we could have imagined!
Esteban Cortazar must be pleased with his decision to leave Emanuel Ungaro! As it happens, Lindsay Lohan's involvement in the Paris-based fashion house is much more severe than merely being the face of the brand.
Along with relatively unknown designer, Estrella Archs, Ungaro CEO Mounir Moufarrige has enlisted Lindsay to be the artistic adviser to the brand, a position so involved that at this point Lindsay is getting half of the credit for whatever the house churns out.
Horrible!!!!!!
Archs and Lohan are set to debut their first collection on October 4th in Paris.
Most troubling, it seems clear that Moufarrige is more concerned with getting press than maintaining respect for his brand.
He says, "The fashion industry thrives on controversy anyway. Emanuel Ungaro himself was very controversial. He always felt women had to dress to seduce. His first perfume he called Diva. It's not an act of desperation to get a real diva involved. I like controversy….Odds are it could work. Everything we're going to get is going to be a plus. I think that the noise level around Lindsay will be very, very big."
Hm. It sure seems like an act of desperation!
LiLo said of the partnership, "When I'm involved in a project, I give my all to it." Hmmmmm. Has the bleach affected your brain, honey?? You have a bad track record of absolutely not giving your all. But we digress.
She goes on to say that her role "kind of oversees everything [Archs] does, while working with her. Different generations have different ideas."
Archs, meanwhile, said of the union: "Have you ever met two women who agree completely about fashion?… We get along really well. I think she's fun. We get along really well. I think she's fun. She has an eye for fashion. She's very enthusiastic. She's very much for the youth, for the sexiness."
Lindz signed a multiyear contract with the fashion house, which requires her to do drunk trunk shoes, make appearances when called for, and be a day-to-day emblem of the brand. She will not, however, grace any ad campaigns for the company. Moufarrige said, "I've got a moving advertising campaign through Lindsay. She's a super consumer, and it's a new idea. She's photographed thousands of times a week."
We guess if it's attention that he wants, then he's made the right move. Let's just hope the collection isn't hein!
