A pair of Queen Victoria's tent-sized bloomers were discovered recently after being held in a private collection for over 100 years. The linen panties measured a gigantic 56 inches around the waist. FIFTY SIX! That's Jaba The Hut size.
Dating back to the 1890s, the XXXL panties, which have been added to the Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection at the Kensington Palace, are embroidered with a crown and the initials VR and came with a matching top.
The curator of the Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection, Alexandra Kim, said that "By this stage in her life, Queen Victoria had gained quite a few inches. When she was about 18, her waist was about 20 inches…Over the years, particularly having given birth to nine children, that changed entirely."
We'll say! If she had a 20 inch waist when she was 18, that means she nearly tripled herself by the time she wore these bad boys.
Looks like obesity isn't just an American concern!
