First the Brits, now the French!

Politicians in France have proposed a law that would require fashion magazines, political campaigns, press, advertising campaigns, art and packaging to put a "health warning stamp" on all photographs that have been airbrushed.

Valerie Boyer, a French member of parliament, said "These images can make people believe in a reality that often does not exist."

The disclaimer would say, "Photograph retouched to modify the physical appearance of a person." Failing to put the stamp on an airbrushed photo would be penalized with a 37,500 euro fine ($54,930), or up to 50% of the worth of the advertisement.

They're not messing around!

No word on whether or not this is expected to be passed, but we hope it is! This would be a huge step in the right direction and would hopefully start a domino effect around the world.

How long before the U.S. jumps on the bandwagon?
