Kate Moss Is Caring, Sharing

Kate Moss has just finished designing her fourth collection for Topshop and the results are kinda great. This is probably in large part due to the fact that Moss draws inspiration from her own, massive closet: "I have three wardrobes," she says, "One big one, and two everyday ones, and recently I hired some people to come in and sort them out. They archived everything, putting it all in paper and boxes, labelled with Polaroids. It's gorgeous. I've had a couple of parties in there, in my dressing room. So many looks! So many hats!"

With the help of her stylist, Katy England, the model picks the "most beautiful elements," from within her expansive wardrobe and then creates composite pieces for her Topshop line. She acknowledges that sometimes she initially feels, "a bit reluctant to share my stuff with millions of people,…[but] I'm not possessive. I'm a bit caring-sharing. You don't get precious about clothes when you're in fashion. You know, easy come."

Ha - how very generous of her. Except for the fact that she's not actually giving anything away nor is she creating exact replicas, but we catch her drift, we guess.

She goes on to say, "I don't think people buy these things because they want to look like me. They buy them because they know that I have an input and that I really know about fashion, about fit. And so I should. I've had 20 years. Twenty years of clothes on my back."

It's a solid point - the woman has been in the center of the fashion industry for a very long time and has impeccable taste, and her designs are consistently a reflection of this.

Kudos on another successful line!
