So much drama over a pair of sneakers!

Basketball legend Michael Jordan's son, Marcus, might have just cost his alma mater, University of Central Florida, their multi-million dollar endorsement deal with Adidas.

In an exhibition game last night, the UCF basketball player opted to wear Nike's Jordans instead of Adidas brand sneakers. Now, Adidas wants to cut ties on their six-year, $3 million contract with the school. According to sources, the regional Adidas reps had formed an agreement with the school that would allow Marcus to wear his father's designs for Nike, but higher-ups at Adidas scoffed at the deal.

UCF associate director of athletics Joe Hornstein said, "We are disappointed to learn that Adidas has chosen to discontinue its relationship with UCF Athletics. Once we receive official notice, we will be able to further respond."

Yikes! This seems like a disproportionate response - it was only an exhibition game, afterall, and the kid is basketball royalty! He should be allowed to don his father's designs, especially if the regional representatives had given him the go-ahead. We hope Adidas reconsiders.

Team Marcus! Go Knights!
