With the holidays soon approaching, many of us will be flying home or going on vacation. And with airport craziness comes a lot of delayed or cancelled flights.
But no worries if you're a fan of Dutch designer Erik De Nijs as he's created a movable sofa for the airport. Sorta.
De Nijs has made a 4-piece luggage set which, when combined together, create a portable sofa.
Inneresting.
The design has the luggage covered in fabrics similar to some you'd find in your living room.
And according to the designer:
I created a living room couch which is built from a suitcase set. The set is meant for 2 people, consists of 2 pieces of hand luggage and 2 pieces of large luggage.
This concept came from a research on nostalgia during travelling. When a familiar object from home is taken with you on a trip you feel much more at ease. And which object is more familiar then your own comfortable couch.
The fabrics which are used to cover the suit cases emphasize the homely feeling. I searched for a combination of fabrics which amplify each other and which create a prominent image. By using prints on the large luggage and the pad on the hand luggage I tried to put down a lively picture.
It's not a bad idea, but usually you check in your large luggage when you first arrive at the airport. But the padded carry on luggage seems nice.
What do U think? Would U buy?
