Chanel Gets Sued Over A Pattern

Unkle Karl and Co are lawyering up. Carmen Colle, a 61 year old seamstress, is suing the company for allegedly copying a crochet pattern.

How can you prove something like that?

The seamstress who runs World Tricot, an ethical clothing company that gives jobs to refugees, says she saw the pattern in question at a shop in Tokyo 5 years ago!

We're always amazed at how long it takes people to get around to suing someone.

The company is already seeing setbacks from the lawsuit saying banks are refusing to help her, former clients have disappeared and has had to lay off 12 employees.

Hey, join the rest of the fashion industry sweetie.

But Chanel is ready to put up a fight saying they came up with the design on their own and has asked to rule on World Tricot's "blatant denigration" of the Chanel name.

The seamstress is suing for $3.7 million dollars.

Dayum! Who knew a pattern could rack up that huge of bill?
