This is SO unromantic!

Women are reportedly buying there boyfriends slash future fiances "man-gagement" rings. According to Diane Frassanito at Franssanito Jewelers in New York "all girls want everyone to know that their guy is taken, and there's no better way than to see a ring on his finger."

How insecure do you have to be to buy your boyfriend a ring?

Another jewelry company adds: "if you think about it, a woman is engaged and wears an engagement ring on her finger, oftentimes [for] north of a year. A guy's engaged during that same time and walks into a bar as a free man. So think for $350, $400 for a woman to claim her territory".

Oh, please! If the guy wants to be "a free man" he wouldn't be dating the girl!

Jewelers are trying to push the trend by bringing celebrities into it, even name dropping Jennifer Hudson who bought her fiance David Otunga a $15,000 engagement ring.

Umm that's because she's the breadwinner in that relationship!

Sounds like this is a marketing scheme, but we're sure some girls will buy into it.
