Jeez!

People are throwing around some serious wads of cash at the auction of Yves Saint Laurent and partner Pierre Bergé's personal possessions!

The auction is seriously outperforming projections. By an outlandish margin.

Prior to the auction, Christie's had estimated that the total profits off of everything would amount to somewhere between 3 and 4 million euros. The auction ends tomorrow and as of yesterday had already made about 4 million euros (about $6 million). A five-piece set of furniture, appraised at about 6,000 to 8,000 euros, sold for a tremendous 169,000 euros. But at least that's furniture the couple used! Even more jaw-dropping, the couple's pots and pans (which they probably never even personally touched, what with their chefs and personal cooks) sold for a whopping 15,000 euros, or $22,294.50. What do you even do with pots and pans you spent that much money on??

The cooking hardware was expected to go for 1,000 euros max.

At least we can take comfort in the fact that all of this money is being spent for a good cause, with proceeds going toward the fight against AIDS.

Can't wait to see what the final tally is!
