Budding designers, listen up!
Steve Madden and Zappos.com have teamed up to bring you the Sole Search contest, in which contestants try their hand at designing footwear. Three finalists will be selected to meet with Steve Madden in New York where the cost-friendly designer will select the winning design, which will subsequently be produced under the Steve Madden label.

The designer said, "I'm looking for insouciance and originality," but noted that designers should "Try not to be different for the sake of being different."
