Bono And Nike Partner Up

Bono and Nike have us seeing red!

The charitable musician and the sports gear company have teamed together as part of Bono's (RED) brand, the proceeds of which go toward the fight against AIDS in Africa.

Though more philanthropic gear is expected down the line from the duo, the first Nike (RED) collaboration are simple and straightforward red shoelaces. Of the partnernship, Bono said:

"This is a very big day for everyone involved in the fight against AIDS. Nike is about winning, and if we keep our concentration over the next few years, things might start to turn around."

He went on to say that he can't wait to announce more (RED) products in the future, and he also revealed one other upcoming collaboration: none other than our favorite Lady!

Adds Bono:

"Lady Gaga is the latest (RED) warrior to get involved. You know Dr. Dre did those Beats headphones, the big ones, you see people wearing around their neck? Well, Lady Gaga is launching her own (RED) headphones and they are the best sound money can buy."

We're sort of surprised Gaga would create another pair of headphones, but we're glad that it's for a good cause!

No word on when the Gaga (RED)phones are coming out, but for now you can pick up a pair of Nike (RED) laces for $4 at Nike stores and key retailers worldwide.
