A Modeling Show For The Disabled

Britain's Missing Top Model is a new show on BBC America featuring women with different disabilities that are competing for a spread in UK's Marie Claire magazine.

So far the show isn't getting warm reviews because as the New York Times puts it there's a "paradoxical premise: it’s a contest designed to raise the profile and confidence of disabled women but makes a spectacle of their hunger for acceptance."

After shooting a contestant, the photographer commented that her "disability didn’t cause me any problems. It was just the fact she’s not really in shape. Most models are pretty toned, slimmer, more agile.”

So if they aren't discriminated for their disability, then it goes back to having the appearance of a model, which isn't exactly fair if you ask us. These girls are putting themselves out there to overcome one of the many hurdles in the fashion world.

Unfortunately that's just how the industry works.

What do U think of this show? Good idea? Or exploitation at its finest?
