In this economy it's a smart move for designers to expand on denim, the one faction of the fashion industry that has actually enjoyed booming business in the past few years.

In that vein, Dior Homme is launching a new denim line for women as part of its Petite Taille line. The collection will reflect pieces from the men's collection and will feature Japanese denim with a touch of spandex and a more womanly shape. The collection will feature a wide range of washes, cuts, and colors across the board.

Kris Van Assche, creative director for Dior Homme, said the line, "has always appealed to women. Therefore, we decided to offer [women] a Dior Homme jeans version of [their] own, jeans being such a key and important unisex item galvanizing all wardrobes….Today it's the cut, the denim, the washes and the details that make all the difference."

The women's collection will be available by spring 2010 in Dior Homme stores worldwide, with jeans priced from $407 to $1,185.

Pricey! But can't wait to see the full selection!
