Bad news for Victoria Beckham.
The svelte singer-turned-designer was shocked Friday night when she received news that a delivery of dresses, due for Neiman Marcus in New York, was stolen at knife-point in London. The stolen goods included between 50 and 75 dresses worth about £350,000, or $571,830.
That's a big, big financial hit to take!
Two men apparently broke into the delivery van and stole two large boxes of dresses in what seems to have been a well-planned heist. The driver suffered only minor injuries, though he was a bit shaken up.
One source said, "This operation was meticulously planned. The thieves must feel they can make a fortune selling the collection on the black market. Victoria was informed straight away about the incident and was shocked and deeply saddened, although her first priority was the well-being of the driver."
A spokeswoman for Victoria said they hoped the spring/summer 2010 collection could be remade in time for Neiman Marcus to sell the dresses.
Police are investigating the incident.
