Lacoste To Make High-End Leather Accessories In The Near Future

Lacoste is making moves into high-end accessories. On Monday, Lacoste and longtime partner, Samsonite, issued a statement confirming the end of their union, which will take place in fall 2010.

Beginning in January 2011, Lacoste's leather accessories license will lie with Devanlay, who has handled Lacoste apparel worldwide for ages, and which already owns 35% of the brand. At the same time, Lacoste owns 10% of Devanlay, and has said that the new partnering will allow the label to create more cohesion between its accessories and fashion collections.

Makes sense.

The first collections will be unveiled in time for spring 2011 and will include handbags, luggage, and small leather goods for both men and women.

The collections will be sold through Devanlay's network of retailers and boutiques, including 1,100 Lacoste boutiques worldwide.

Well, this seems like a logical move for the brand. We're interested to see what kind of luggage and leather goods they produce - we have faith that it won't be too shabby!
