The World's Priciest Luxury Love Toys

Well, this is something we never expected to see.

Colin Burn is a jeweler with a strange area of expertise: the jewel maker specializes in making bedazzled erotic toys.

His range includes products such as whips, vibrating eggs, ticklers, and vibrators, all encrusted in jewels and fine metals. Take the Casanova Whip, for instance, is a limited edition whip cast in solid silver and layered with gold, adorned with pearls and cabochon gems. The hand is natural polished she-oak timber and the whip is genuine human hair. The price tag? $2,500.

But that's nothing compared to his platinum and diamond Eternity dildo, which retails for a whopping $38,000.

That's more than a car!

But apparently, we ain't seen nothin' yet. The jeweler has declared that in 2010, he wants to create the world's most expensive vibrators - a 10 piece limited edition collection of smooth platinum encrusted with 1,500 white diamonds.

First of all - how is a vibrator priced at nearly $40k not already the world's most expensive??

Secondly, and more importantly, what's the point of spending so much money on things of this nature? We doubt that the jewels and metals improve the - erm - performance of the product or experience at large. And it's not like a piece of jewelry that can be admired. Or a car that can, you know, drive you places.

We don't get it, but are we alone? Would you ever consider spending so much money on luxury love toys?
