Eva Longoria Parker is expanding her brand nicely these days.
The face of L'Oréal Paris, the actress recently added a campaign deal with London Fog to her portfolio, and now she's putting perfumer on her resume as well.
The Desperate Housewives star has partnered with Falic Fashion Group to launch the scent Eva by Eva Longoria due out this April 2010.
We're not crazy about celebrity perfume deals, but we think Eva's reasoning for wanting to create a perfume does make sense. She says, "I've always been somewhat allergic to all perfumes and really wanted to create something that every woman could wear, so I decided to create my own fragrance that is light, fresh, and unique. I think the scent of a woman is extremely sexy and this scent will prove that."
If we were allergic to something we loved and had the power to create a allergy-free version of it, we'd probably do it too!
We also like that Eva didn't just throw her name onto the work of someone else: Jerome Falic, CEO of Falic Fashion Group, says "Eva was involved day one with all aspects of the project. At the end of the day, it's about Eva. She wanted something different, so we designed quite a few different [versions]."
“I never knew how complicated it was to create a unique scent that hasn’t already been done,” Eva added. “But I enjoyed the process.”
The juice features top notes of citrus, neroli, bergamot tea and aldehydes with a heart of sheer jasmine, muguet, violet and fresia. Skin musk, amber, and sandalwood round out the bottom of the scent. The bottle was designed by Willhelm Liden at Paul Meyers & Friends, and aims to mimic the silhouette of a woman.
The fragrance will retail for $45 (1.7-oz) and $58 (3.4-oz) in over 1,000 U.S. stores, including Macy's and Dillard's. The scent will debut in Mexico, South and Central America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia throughout the rest of 2010. Industry sources estimate that Eva by Eva Longoria could make over $15 million in first year sales.
Randall Slavin shot the print campaign, featuring a dewy, glowing Eva, which will hit glossy-paged magazines in April.
Falic said that this could be just the first of many Eva Longoria fragrances.
