No Million Dollar Shoes This Year

Every year for Oscar season, top shoe designer Stuart Weitzman designs a pair of Million Dollar shoes for a lucky lady to wear to the hot Red Carpet event.

This year, however, the designer has opted not to create the lavish kicks. He says,

"There will be no Million Dollar shoe for the Oscars this year. With so many people struggling financially, and unemployment at 10 percent, I don't think it is appropriate. The actresses still want to go for glamour, but this year it will be more understated."

We're floored. We love it!

It's so plugged-in and thoughtful of the designer to be conscious of the message he sends by creating such decadence.

We wish more people would follow his lead.

We can't say we won't miss the over the top heels, but we're very, very impressed!
