Keep Your Skin Youthful From The Inside Out

Dermatologists have always known that topical anti-agers can help with wrinkle prevention, but true beauty comes from within.

Literally!

A new pill, Inneov Fermete, claims to keep women looking young and wrinkle-free from the inside out.

A recent study shows that when taken daily, the little red pill protects older skin cells and stimulates the growth of new ones. The study surveyed two groups of women: 90 postmenopausal women aged 51 to 69, and a group of 70 pre-menopausal women with an average age of 45. Half the women in each group were given Inneov Fermete, while the other half were given a placebo.

The survey found that women who took the anti-wrinkle pill daily for six months were shown to have 8.7% better elasticity than those who took the placebo.

What does 8.7% better elasticity even mean? How can elasticity be measured and compared in percentages??

The pill, which was developed by L'Oreal and Nestle (yep!), claims to combine nutrition and cosmetics as part of the new "cosmeceutical" skincare movement. The belief is that the skin is most affected by what you put inside your body, rather than what you slather on top of it.

And what, you ask, are you putting inside your body if you take Inneov? Well, the pill has three main ingredients: Lycopene, the red carotine pigment in tomatoes, which is extremely high in antioxidants, vitamin C and isoflavones, which come from soy beans.

Inneov spokeswoman Patricia Manissier said, "We have done a lot of research which shows this product works and now we're looking for ways of improving it. We know that good nutrition can prevent the skin from aging and that there are clear links between certain nutrients and skin health."

Good thing they're working to improve it - at 25 pounds (or $40) for a 10 day supply, the pills should be damn near magical!

The pill is currently not available in the U.S., but is being sold in parts of Europe and in South America, with a tentative U.K. launch date pending.

We wonder what the FDA would say about this, but we're sure we'll find out soon.

Hope the new improved version makes its way to the States stat!
