Just a few weeks before Christmas, Detroit area authorities issued a terror alert to local beauty salons and supply stores after one man tried to buy large quantities of chemicals from a beauty supply warehouse.
Apparently, when mixed with other ingredients, chemicals from things like perms and dyes can be used to create explosives.
According to local news reports, Detroit area salon owners are taking the alert very seriously.
One salon owner said, "Before we would get the client card for any chemical service like color, perms, and things like that, but now we just get it done with every new client."
Glad to hear they're taking the alert seriously.
With the heightened awareness, it's unlikely something will happen using that method now, which is great.
