Kate Moss doesn't plan on putting down the designer title any time soon.
From her successful line for Topshop, to her soon-to-be-released fragrance, its clear that the supermodel has a penchant for creative production of fashion. Now, she's further exploring that interest: after representing Longchamp in ad campaigns for years, the luxury bag label is bringing the British beauty on board to design a range of bags dubbed Kate Moss for Longchamp.
Though no representative for Longchamp could be reached, the collection is reportedly set to hit boutiques and department stores on February 11, with more to come in the future: the deal is said to be long-term with two collections required per year.
Kate has said in the past,
"working on the creative process is really interesting for me because I do know what I like, so it's fun for me to realize that it becomes part of you. It's not just putting your name on something; it's about being very involved in it."
The model reportedly worked closely with Longchamp artistic director Sophie Delafontaine to design the collection.
This is an interesting match.
It's one thing for Kate to represent the 60-year-old label as a model where she adapts to the brand's aesthetic. But on a personal style level, Kate's look is much edgier and more rock-n-roll than the sophisticated and elegant Longchamp's signature style. That's not to say that Kate can't do sophisticated and elegant, we're just curious to see what the final product will be.
Can't wait to see! With the launch date in the near future, hopefully photos will be available soon.
