Burberry Wins $1.5 Million In Counterfeit Suit

Burberry does not take copyright infringement lightly - they'll come after you!

The British label won $1.5 million in a counterfeit suit this week against Designers Imports, Inc. The dispute first began back in 2005 when Burberry and DI entered a settlement that forbade DI from selling fake Burberry products.

Burberry subsequently hired investigators, who reportedly bought 20 items from DI and found 14 of them to be counterfeit. Naturally, Burberry filed suit shortly thereafter seeking $6.5 million in damages.

Burberry didn't walk away with the full $6.5 mill they were after, but the company still won the suit. DI was ordered to pay $1.5 million in damages and an injunction was imposed that prohibits DI from selling any Burberry at all.

That's what you get for selling fakes! Especially after already being explicitly told not to.
