Paris menswear fashion week kicked off with a surge of energy on Thursday, when Japanese label Issey Miyake sent his coffee-inspired collection down the runway.

Miyake creative director Dai Fujiwara drew inspiration from Japan's coffee shops, with their signature gingham tablecloths and casual chic baristas. He even looked to the way cream dances with the coffee after the initial pour for aesthetic inspiration.

He says, "After the crisis, I thought people needed a rest, a coffee break. You go down tot the coffee shop in comfy clothes, with a newspaper…. I like when clothes tell a story."

The collection, consequently, mirrored this casual, Sunday-morning look: models looked sloppy-chic, with slouchy, comfy clothes with swirls of browns and grays.

Pretty! What a cool place to be inspired!
