On top of popping the question, musician Jamie Hince gave his girlfriend, Kate Moss, £40,000, 18-carat rose gold watch at a belated birthday party he threw for her in London this past week. That's $64,496 at the current conversion rate.
Damn! He must be totally smitten with her - that's quite a pretty penny to shell out for a birthday!
What's more - Kate apparently didn't say yes to Jamie's birthday proposal; she did not wear the engagement ring to the party, and a friend of Jamie's says, "He has asked Kate to marry him several times. Kate told him one day she will surprise him by turning around and asking him to elope, whe she feels the time is right."
Ouch.
At least she didn't say no!
Can't say we're terribly surprised though - she ain't the marrying type!
