What Anna Wintour wants, Anna Wintour gets. Most of the time that is.

But this time around, Miz Wintour is trying to prevent a developer in New York from building a condo building next to her private Greenwhich Village garden. So Wintour is putting pressure on NYC officials to stop the construction.

Last year, she wrote a letter to the Landmarks Preservation Commission calling the project "a totally out-of-scale, inappropriate eight-story building," which would be an "unwelcome intrusion" to the historic neighborhood.

And just last week, she sent an appeal to NY's City Council Speaker with the hopes of getting something done.

But despite protests, developer John Wu was able to demolish a 1862 rowhouse last year and his building plan was approved in October by the city.

However, Anna and the preservation organization got a lucky break earlier this month when the Department of Buildings sent a letter to Wu stating they intended to revoke its approval of the project if certain conditions weren't met.

Such as claims that his new building would be too tall and would violate the city's laws.

Wu, on the other hand, isn't backing down and says he'll fight the decision. Though we wouldn't want to be on Anna's bad side if we were him.
