Modern Amusement Flies The Coop

Sad.

One of our favorite brands, Modern Amusement has shut down.

An email was sent out to retailers by the VP of Sales, saying:

“With regret, I am writing to inform you that Modern Amusement has ceased operations effective immediately. In light of prior management disputes, it is a difficult but necessary choice. Unfortunately, this is all the information we can provide at this time and we are unable to elaborate on all the details. This is deeply troubling for myself, Mossimo and the entire Modern Amusement family.”

However, the closing isn't too surprising, especially after the Mossimo Giannulli owned brand suffered numerous employee layoffs at the end of the year and the departure of the company's CEO Michael Boyes.

But with the sad news, there may still be a glimmer of hope. The letter added “We know you and your consumers love the brand. We do too. We hope to reintroduce the Crow to consumers in the future and look forward to reengaging with you at that point."

Here's hoping to a crow comeback!
