As we mentioned previously, Andre Leon Talley will be joining the panel of judges on America's Next Top Model.
Vogue's Editor at Large, will be taking Miss J. Alexander's spot on the panel, while he will take over his original role as the contestants runway coach.
Talley will make his judging debut on the show's 14th cycle starting March 10th, but was originally approached by Tyra Banks 8 years ago, but didn't take the gig. He explains: "At that point, I said no because it was the beginning. I was thinking I wanted to see where it goes."
That's a nice way of saying he wanted to make sure it wasn't a ratings bomb.
And while he's never seen a single episode of the show, he has signed on for 3 seasons:
I felt maybe I could contribute something to it that had not been on the show. I just felt that it was a way to step out of the box and associate myself with a very important American success story, a very important brand — Tyra Banks."
Tyra hopes Andre will take the show in a more high-fashion direction, meaning she actually wants a winner to become a real Top Model.
The Queen of Smize says:
"André speaks about fashion and he has such a passion, and the words — the adverbs, the adjectives — he uses! I know it’s going to make the viewer at home go, ‘Wowww.’” It might go over their head, but he’s educating them about a time, bringing them back to a place when fashion was life."
At least the deliberation will be a little more inneresting.
Will U be tuning in???
