On Thursday morning the fashion world was rattled by the news that Alexander McQueen was found dead in his London home after hanging himself.

Kate Moss, one of the designers closest friends, released a statement through her rep:

"Kate is shocked and devastated at the tragic loss of her dear friend Lee McQueen. Her thoughts are with his family at this sad time. We would also ask that Kate's privacy is respected."

In addition to Moss, other celebrities have been flooding the Twitter-verse with their thoughts.
