It's safe to say that Louis Vuitton and eBay do not get along.

Both companies have been in a constant legal battle against each other with LVMH accusing eBay of selling counterfeit Louis Vuitton items and damaging its reputation.

And today's court ruling is again in favor of the French designer company.

LVMH was accusing the online auction site of paying to have internet searches of misspelled Vuitton items directed to eBay.

Many of the counterfeit items would use misspelled descriptions in their ads, such as Viton or Wuiton, and eBay was found to be paying search engines to direct those searches to them.

LVMH fought back and said eBay was harming their image and the French court agreed.

eBay has been fined almost $275,000 in damages and must stop paying the search engines to direct certain keywords to their site.

In addition, they'll also have to pay over $1,000 for every future violation, applicable only in France.

According to a rep for LVMH, "Louis Vuitton welcomes this decision, which confirms established case law that aims to protect the consumer from the illicit use of company trademarks."

No word yet on if eBay will appeal.
