How does something like this happen?

Between 2:00-2:30am on February 12th, some guests at the Keith Haring by the House of Field Fashion Week party made off with two dozen Keith Haring-inspired photographs.

Each M.I.A. photo was shot by fashion photog Dah Len, styled by Pat Field and signed by each celeb that was featured in the shot.

Sandra Shafer, who produced the 1,800 guest party at the Hudson Hotel's basement club Good Units said "some of the portraits and murals were over 6 feet wide, so we don't know how somebody managed to get out with them unnoticed."

Neither do we!

But the Hudson Hotel was quick to fire back, arguing the photos were just prints and not Keith Haring originals.

The hotel rep adds "Organizers were encouraging people to graffiti the wall and write on the prints — it was a free space and people saw it as that. I'm not sure if it was really a theft. Guests may have believed the pictures were there to be taken"

The pieces, which are valued over $10,000, were eventually going to be auctioned off for the Keith Haring Foundation to benefit AIDS-related and children's charities.

Since there were no cameras to catch the so called "thieves", those who saw wandering 6 foot pictures in New York over the weekend may want to call the police.
