Harry Potter fans must be geeking out right now!
German researchers say they are one step closer to developing an actual invisibility cloak.
The uber smart scientists at Germany's Karlsruhe Institute of Technology have recently been able to "cloak" a tiny bump in a layer of gold, which was undetectable in infrared frequencies.
According to the online journal of science, the cloak "is a structure of crystals with air spaces in between, sort of like a woodpile, that bends light, hiding the bump in the gold later beneath".
But don't get too excited. Researcher Tolga Ergin says it's going to be a while before developing a full on cloak. He explains "cloaking larger items with that technology is not really feasible" adding "other fabrication techniques, though, might lead to larger cloaks".
Either way this shiz is pretty amazing!
