This isn't good!
Walmart is apparently selling Miley Cyrus jewelry that contains high levels of cadmium.
Cadmium exposure can occur when the wearer either bites, chews or sucks on the jewelry and the effects are debilitating! Long term exposure to the metal can lead to bone softening, kidney failure, and potentially hinder brain development in the young children.
What's even worse is that Walmart has continued to sell the items after they were informed back in February of the high toxicity levels!
WTF!?
They issued a statement in April that they are now requiring its suppliers to show tests that the baubles have low amounts of cadmium, but they aren't applying the new policy to items already on the shelves because it's too "diifficult" to test.
Again, WTF!?
Walmart also says that the jewelry in question is intended for "juniors", without giving it an age range.
Kind of a bullshiz response because we all know Miley's character Hannah Montana appeals to even little kids!
Hopefully they rethink their policy and pull the items.
