Last year, L*Space announced it was starting its "green" eco-friendly swimwear 2010 collection and it seems the eco-friendly swimwear line idea has taken off.

British designer Katharine Hamnett has just launched her Save the Sea collection. Says the activist:

"I have called this collection Save the Sea, as the sea that we all love is dying due to the impact of human activities such as oil spill, sewage dumping, industrial pollution, agriculture chemical fertilizers and pesticide run-off, lack of fish stock management, over fishing [and] pirate fishing, which can possibly lead to the extinction of species. It's important as consumers and voters that we all know the facts, so that we can do what is needed to save it."

The collection features 14 different styles including swimsuits, bikinis, totes, towels, t-shirts, organic silk dresses and more, with prices ranging from $60-$185

The items will be sold on Yoox.com with a percentage of the sales going to help farmers in West Africa through the Fashioning a Better Future project.

And although we're loving the polka-dot bikini, the male model with the green trunks is even hotter!
