Italian eyewear company Luxottica is currently in works on the world's most unnecessary first line of optically correct 3D glasses ever.
These glasses will make their U.S. debut through Luxottica's Oakley brand next year, following extensive tests, including ones done with DreamWorks Animation Studios.
Here's what Oakley had to say about their product:
"Oakley 3D eyewear is the first 3D eyewear on Earth with optically correct lenses. What does that mean?
Well, even non-prescription eyewear can change your view of the world, and not in a good way. Conventional 3D lenses can bend light in ways that make images appear shifted from their true position. They can also magnify parts of an image, and reduce the sharpness and clarity of what you are viewing. Each eye might be viewing a subtly different version of the same image, so your brain has to do more work to put the two images together.
Oakley put its decades of innovation into engineering optically correct 3D lenses that virtually eliminate these distortions. Oakley 3D eyewear gives you the clearest, sharpest, truest vision possible. It's all about clarity and fidelity in what you are viewing, and our 3D eyewear reigns supreme."
The PREMIUM editions? So, what's the deal with the regular editions? Will they only show sub-par 3D, like from Clash of the Titans?
This may very well be the most ABSURD announcement to come out of the world of fashion, 3D, technology, and arguably news in general!
Would U buy a pair of these 3D glasses?
