For those of you facing the upcoming holiday travels, here’s a way to add some humor to your airport experience.
With the new TSA full-body-scanners and pat downs at several airports, creators Tim Geoghegan and Matthew Ryan have designed a special type of shirt called 4th Amendment Wear.
The tee has the privacy rights in the amendment printed on the front with metallic ink designed to show up during the scanners.
Geoghegan reveals:
"It's not that I'm against searches, because I think they're something we have to do. It's just to raise the issue of privacy, the things we have to go through now. I figured the Fourth Amendment raises those questions but doesn't really take a side on the issue. It gets people to re-read the amendment and brings it up for discussion."
The collection, which also includes non-metallic options, features shirts, underwear, and socks.
Ryan adds:
"I figured if we could create metal type that would appear in these scanners, it would be pretty awesome. We're giving people a voice when they don't have a voice at all.
We had been talking to some of the manufacturers of the body scanner machines and got advice on what would show up the best.”
As for the metallic ink, it consists of iron powder mixed with ink.
But don’t worry about setting off the regular metal detectors as the guys claim the items have as much metal as a standard rivet on a pair of jeans.
Would U buy one?
