ALT Joins ANTM

As we mentioned previously, Andre Leon Talley will be joining the panel of judges on America's Next Top Model.

Vogue's Editor at Large, will be taking Miss J. Alexander's spot on the panel, while he will take over his original role as the contestants runway coach.

Talley will make his judging debut on the show's 14th cycle starting March 10th, but was originally approached by Tyra Banks 8 years ago, but didn't take the gig. He explains: "At that point, I said no because it was the beginning. I was thinking I wanted to see where it goes."

That's a nice way of saying he wanted to make sure it wasn't a ratings bomb.

And while he's never seen a single episode of the show, he has signed on for 3 seasons:

I felt maybe I could contribute something to it that had not been on the show. I just felt that it was a way to step out of the box and associate myself with a very important American success story, a very important brand — Tyra Banks."

Tyra hopes Andre will take the show in a more high-fashion direction, meaning she actually wants a winner to become a real Top Model.

The Queen of Smize says:

"André speaks about fashion and he has such a passion, and the words — the adverbs, the adjectives — he uses! I know it’s going to make the viewer at home go, ‘Wowww.’” It might go over their head, but he’s educating them about a time, bringing them back to a place when fashion was life."

At least the deliberation will be a little more inneresting.

Will U be tuning in???

The 45 year old will be replacing George Clooney's ex Lisa Snowdon while she goes to persue her career in radio.

Project Runway Still Can't Make The Ratings Work!

project_runway_7_e__opt__opt.jpg

This sad. Not surprising, but sad.

According to the latest ratings report, Project Runway's viewership is sinking faster than Heidi Klum can say "auf wiedersehen".

Three weeks ago when the show premiered only 2.9 million viewers tuned in for the runway's return to New York, which is about 1.5 million less than the El Lay premiere.

There's many factors that could play into the lack of viewership and many are pointing the finger at the cast, which by the way were auditioned on an invite only basis.

And then there's the switch from Lifetime to Bravo, although now that they've found their fashion replacement with the far more entertaining Kelly Cutrone, we doubt they'd invite them back.

Either way, if the execs want to boost ratings for the next season (if there is one) they need to start brainstorming ideas and FAST!

What do U think the problem is with this season of Project Runway???

Heidi Says Don't Get Too Comfortable In New York!

heidi.jpg

Well this is some news New Yorkers probably won't like.

While season 7 of Project Runway is back in the Big Apple after spending last season in El Lay, don't get too comfortable: Heidi Klum recently said that more Los Angeles-based seasons are in the show's future. The Runway judge said, "we like to change it up, we like to go back and forth. So, the [next season] will probably be back in LA again."

We love us some L.A., but Runway is simply better in New York!

It seems Michael Kors agrees:

"When you think about it, the walks from Parsons to Mood, you could have 500 inspirations within a minute. The bar is raised. I think the energy level is full-tilt boogie. It's New York. Nothing stops here."

We agree. New York is the America's fashion epicenter! LA certainly has style, but New York is the heartbeat of the fashion industry in the States.

What do you think? Are you happy to hear Project Runway will return to the west coast? Or do you prefer the show in the big city??

Nicole Returns To Project Runway

Now, this is a celebrity guest judge that makes sense!

Nicole Richie will be a judge on the season 7 premiere of Project Runway.

This is her second time judging on the reality show, and we think that she is one of the few celebrity guests who really makes sense as a judge - she's a talented designer who has enjoyed success in the fashion world.

Many of last season's celebrity guests had seemingly no fashion experience (Eva Longoria Parker) or are complete fashion failures (Lindsay Lohan).

Project Runway producer Sara Rea said, "Nicole is a fabulous guest judge. She has strong opinions and gives clear and specific constructive criticism to the designers. Also, she isn't afraid to disagree with the other judges."

The seventh season of Project Runway premieres January 14th on Lifetime.

Can't wait!
