The first thing that came to our mind when we saw the Viktor & Rolf S/S 2012 collection was Barbie.

The colors, the fabrics, the shoes. Everything that walked down the runway could have easily been found hanging in Barbie's closet and maybe Nicki Minaj's.

Fail Hill and Tim McGraw will soon be celebrating the release of their first Barbie dolls!

The special Tim McGraw and Faith Hill Doll Gift Set is being released next month and retailing at $69.99.

And it turns out the duo was very involved in the process. Designer Linda Kyaw, reveals:

“Tim and Faith sent us photos of every detail including Tim’s complete suit, piece-by-piece; and Faith’s dress, make-up, and clear shots of her hair preference. The couple knew exactly what they wanted to see in doll form, and they helped us achieve the best possible results.”

Sure, the dolls came out cute, but it doesn’t hurt to model them after such a good looking couple!

Though making the dolls wasn’t easy. Kyaw adds:

“It really takes an army and the process can take anywhere from a weeks to a few months. With real celebrity likenesses, it is definitely more challenging because there are a lot of factors to consider. Our vision is to capture the true essence of the celebrity — and I think we did just that with Tim and Faith!”

We agree, they did capture their likeness. What do U thik?

That's One Scary Looking Barbie!

Filed Under: Wacky, Tacky & True Inspiration Barbie

Most of us already know if Barbie’s measurements were converted to the size of a human she’d be 6 feet tall with a bust size of 39 inches, an 18 inch waist and 33 inch hips.

A bit odd looking to say the least.

And one Hamilton University student is using these numbers to make a point.

Galia Slayen, who has battled her own eating disorder in the past, has created a life-sized version of the Barbie doll.

And while she makes it a point to not entirely blame the doll for a lot of the body image issues women have, she does add that it contributes a bit.

Check out her interview with The TODAY Show above to learn more about Galia’s efforts to raise awareness about eating disorders and body image issues.

Filed Under: Madonna Legal Matters Barbie

New year, new drama for Mattel.

Patricia Day of the punk rock group HorrorPops is suing the doll maker and Hard Rock Cafe claiming they used her likeness for their Rockabilly Barbie without her permission.

Even though Mattel is based out of California and Hard Rock's in Florida, the lawsuit was filed in Indiana, which "has the most favorable 'right of publicity' statute in the United States".

It's also inneresting to note that Patricia is represented by One LLP, who is also representing LA Triumph in the lawsuit against Madonna and the use of Material Girl.

Patricia is asking for all the profits made from the doll, to recall and destroy the doll, punitive damages, and attorney fees.

Think she'll get it???
