An non-Photoshopped Cate Blanchett graces the April cover of Intelligent Life magazine and she looks great!
Editor Tim de Lisle said he wanted to leave the image un-retouched because most magazines "end up running heavily Photoshopped images, with every last wrinkle expunged".
He continued in his editor's letter:
"She looks like what she is; a woman of 42, spending her days in an office, her evenings on stage and the rest of her time looking after three young children. We can't be too self-righteous about it, because, like anyone else who puts her on a cover, we are benefiting from her beauty and distinction. But the shot is at least trying to reflect real life. It's a curious sign of the times that this has become something to shout about."
We're not complaining about de Lisle's decision.
In fact, we wish other publications would follow suit or at the very least lighten up on the amount of retouching they do.

With skin like hers, we wouldn't consider plastic surgery either!
But while Cate Blanchett simply practices an excellent skincare regime with the occasional oxygen facial, we all know of other Hollywood starlets who go for the knife!
And Cate isn't shy about her opinions of those who do decide to get some work done.

Cate Blanchett was all dolled up for the April cover of Harper's Bazaar UK.
Wrapped in decadent feathers courtesy of Ralph Lauren, this is the cover being displayed on newsstands.
As for subscribers, they'll open their mailboxes to the Minimal version of Cate's glamorous photo shoot. As U can see in the first photo below, her minimalism is portrayed in a classic black number by Lanvin.
Both covers were shot by the talented Alexi Lubomirski.
Inside the magazine, readers will also see Cate sprawled out in a gold Alexander McQueen dress, most likely pondering how great it must feel to lie down in a McQueen.

The Aussie actress arrived the Sydney Opera House in a gold metallic pleated silk dress from the Alexander McQueen S/S 2012 collection.
Cate finished off her winning look with gold Roger Vivier platform pumps and a bejeweled clutch.

Cate Blanchett had the honor of cutting the ribbon to the new Louis Vuitton flagship in Sydney this week.
At Friday's grand opening, Miz Blanchett donned a laser cut tulle dress from the sugary sweet Louis Vuitton S/S 2012 collection and matching white pumps.
We think Cate looks a whole lot better in this collection than Sarah Jessica Parker.
