Once again Kristin Davis donned another fab vintage dress from Decades to the Sex and the City 2 premiere in Japan.

This time around Kristin wore a cute yellow taffeta Jean Patou Haute Couture dress by Christian Lacroix.

The dress was made all the way back in 1987, which makes it older than some of the people seeing the movie!

What do U think of Kristin's third vintage choice???

Christian Lacroix Plans A Comeback

Filed Under: Fashion Smashion Business Blitz Christian Lacroix

It's been a minute since we've heard anything from the tanking label known as Christian Lacroix, but now it looks like they're gearing up for a second coming.

The company has inked FOUR licensing deals, in hopes to see some sort of return. The deals include creating eyewear with Mondottica, stationary with Libretto Holdings, decorative wood panels with Marotte and home textiles with the UK's Designers Guild.

They're all over the place!

Eventually the label plans to make their way back to clothing by dabbling in children's clothing, lingerie, as well as men's and women's accessories.

Seems a bit ambitious. Let's just hope they know what they're doing.

The Ebony Fashion Fair, a traveling fashion show that showcases haute couture on African American models in support of local charities, is returning to Tampa after canceling much of its tour earlier this year.

Now, the show will return February 12th in the Tampa Theatre to benefit Derrick Brooks Charities Auxiliary Youth Programs.

Tresa Boykin, publicity chair for Derrick Brooks Charities in Tampa, said, "We held onto hope it would come back. We're glad they were able to revamp it. This was one of our biggest fundraisers for us."

Founded in 1958, the show features 200 looks by a wide array of designers including Christian LaCroix, Oscar de la Renta, Vivienne Westwood, and Jean Paul Gaultier, and has grown to become the worlds largest traveling fashion show, raising over $55 million for charity.

Glad to hear it's back!

Christian Lacroix Gets A Job

Filed Under: Fashion Smashion Business Blitz Christian Lacroix

When your company is in the crapper, you'll take any job you can get.

Christian Lacroix has snagged a pity freelance job designing uniforms for service personnel, which he's done in the past for Air France.

This time he will be fitting 20,000 employees for French railway operator SNCF.

Nothing fancy, but it pays the bills. Or at least a couple of them.

Frenchies Try To Save Lacroix

Filed Under: Legal Matters Business Blitz Christian Lacroix

christianlacroixforlorn.jpg

The French are apparently up in arms over the Christian Lacroix bankruptcy ruling.

According to sources, Industry Minister Christian Estrosi is working his network of French dipomats in the UAE to "alert the sheikh of the urgency of the situation." Making matters worse, Lacroix also spoke out against the ruling, saying that he doesn't want to work with the Falic Group on any projects in the future. This means that of the eleven people whose jobs are saved at Lacroix, the designer himself might not be among them.

Yikes!

We have to say, we understand Lacroix's resistance to the radical changes being proposed, but he isn't really in much of a position to be making demands. At this point, it's go Falic or bust, in the truest sense!

We'll keep you posted as the story develops.
