And The Winner Of Fashion Star Is….

Kara Laricks!

The 38-year-old designer from NYC beat out the competition, Nzimiro Oputa and Ronnie Escalante, and was crowned the winner of the first season of NBC's Fashion Star.

Each of her collections were sold for $2 million to H&M, Macy's, and Saks Fifth Avenue.

She later expressed her excitement, saying:

"I feel so overwhelmed. I don't know what to say. I'm so thrilled… at the opportunity to keep going and keep designing. This is so exciting, so thrilling!"

Mentor Nicole Richie told the final three contestants:

"I have such a deep amount of respect for all three of you, and you should be extremely proud of where you are tonight."

While a tearful Jessica Simpson, and fellow mentor, said:

"Each and every one of you, the people that you are and what you represent, you've inspired me to be better."

So inspiring! Way to go, Kara! Congratulations… You deserve this!

NBC has just picked up the fashion competition show for a second season.

Even though the show wasn't a ratings hit, it still "delivered a concentrated audience of rich urban women, and all the retailers did huge business," which means if it's generating business, then why NOT renew it?

Henry Holland To Co-Host Rihanna's Fashion TV Show!

As we've previously mentioned, our girl Rihanna is following in the very tall footsteps of Heidi Klum and Elle Macpherson with a fashion competition reality show, based out of the UK.

The always stylin’ RiRi will executive produce/host the show alongside designer Henry Holland and Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts.

Holland effused his excitement, stating:

"I'm really excited about this new show, I think it's a great concept and a brilliant opportunity and platform for designers and stylists. A chance to work with Rihanna and some great mentors across the music and fashion industries is definitely something I wish I had been lucky enough to be able to do when I was starting out.

It's a tough industry to crack so it's going to take more hard work than they can even imagine as well as masses of creative flair and a genuine love of fashion. Working with Nicola and Rihanna is just the icing on the cake and should make things a lot more fun!"

Sounds like it could be…entertaining.
