The department store's celebrity spokeswoman returned to her hometown of Metairie, Louisiana to visit the Penneys she used to work at before going Hollywood and let's just say it's a good thing that comedy thing worked out.

The anti-gay group One Million Moms that started that whole campaign to get Ellen fired from her new job as the spokeswoman for the retail chain has decided to call off their protest.

JCPenney's newly appointed CEO Ron Johnson spoke out for the first time since One Million Moms launched their crusade against the retailer for partnering with Ellen DeGeneres and he's standing behind his spokeswoman.
