The year long search for John Galliano's successor at Christian Dior is OVA!

According to New York Times writer Cathy Horyn, the fashion house will bring the months of speculation to an end this week by announcing Raf Simons as their new creative director.

The former Jil Sander designer confirmed the news on Monday in an interview, saying the position "feels right", but it will be a challenge.

He explained:

"…For me the strongest impact is the first 10 years of Dior and how to link that to the 21st century. Mr. Dior was very innovative during a short time span. And it was in the middle of the 20th century, a period I am very interested in, whether it’s linked to fashion, architecture or art. So I find it very challenging to rethink couture."

It'll be inneresting to see how Raf takes on couture this July and what he has in store for Dior, BUT we gotta ask…

Is Raf Simons the right choice???

TIME magazine has made a list of the top 100 most influential fashion icons since 1923, but it's who they left off the list that's really creating a buzz.

Noticeably missing from the list of designers, models, photographers, editors, muses, and stylists include Rachel Zoe, Tyra Banks, Roberto Cavalli, Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera, Michael Kors, Tommy Hilfiger, Sarah Jessica Parker — and that's just off the top of our head!

Geez. TIME's selection committee is strict!

So who were the lucky 100 that made the cut? See for yourself AFTER THE JUMP!

Perfumer Jean-Paul Guerlain Fined For Racist Comments

Filed Under: Icky Icky Poo Legal Matters Fragranz! John Galliano

It's like John Galliano all over again!

A French court has found Jean-Paul Guerlain guilty of making racist comments during a 2010 interview on French TV.

As punishment for saying he "worked like a n****r" the 75 year old perfumer has been ordered to pay 6,000 euros or $7,960. In addition to the fine, he also has to pay Movement Against Racism and for Friendship, SOS Racism Association, and French Representative Council of Black Associations $5,370 EACH.

During the trial Guerlain told the court he is "from another generation" and it was "a common expression at the time". While he regrets his decision, he still insists he was being anything but racist.

Do U think that's a far punishment???

We know you're probably getting tired of all these Christian Dior rumors, but good news! You only gotta suffer through 4 more months of speculation.

According to a source the fashion house is planning to announce John Galliano's successor right before Paris Couture Week in July.

Fingers crossed this is a legit source.
