Last week we told you about ex-Prada employee Rina Bovrisse, who claimed she was fired after Prada Japan CEO, Davide Sesia told her she needed to lose weight and was ashamed of her ugliness.
Now the label is responding to her public outcry in a statement:
Following the many press reports published on Ms. Bovrisse's termination of employment by Prada Japan, Prada once again stresses that Ms. Bovrisse's accusations regarding an alleged misconduct of the company towards her have no ground. Prada also wishes to underline that the Japanese competent Court has dismissed all of the employee's accusations and has ruled that the termination of her employment was perfectly legitimate.
But that's not stopping Rina! She plans to collect more witnesses and file a lawsuit.
Good luck with that.

Looks like the Japanese are getting a hard reality check to the ugly side of the fashion industry.
Turns out Prada Japan CEO, Davide Sesia, doesn't want anyone working at his Prada stores that's "old, fat, ugly, disgusting or not having the Prada look."
According to Rina Bovrisse, a senior retail manager for Prada Japan with over 18 years of experience in the international fashion industry, the Prada heads only want good looking employees.
This sounds a bit Abercrombie & Fitch to us.
And last May when Sesia toured 40 of their stores, he asked Bovrisse to "eliminate" about 15 managerial staff that were too ugly. Human resources later notified 13 employees they were being transferred due to "poor sales."
Sesia then had a meeting with Bovrisse where he reportedly wanted her to "change her hairstyle, to lose weight" because he was "ashamed of Ms Bovrisse's ugliness" and didn't want Italian visitors to see her.
Later in November, the company placed her on involuntary leave and that's when she started her lawsuit the following month.
Sad that it took her getting fired to sue. She should have spoken up or sued when the douche asked her to fire the "ugly and old" staff members.

Ex-model Irina Krupnik is not happy about seeing herself in the hit comedy Couples Retreat, so now she's suing.
According to the lawsuit, a picture of Irina from 10 years ago was used as a "masturbatory prop" by Jon Favreau's character. The suit goes on to say the scene "would be a crime if Mr. Favreau attempted it on a New York City subway" and that NBC Universal should have used "somebody who wanted to be an object of Favreau's self-affection."
Even though the 31 year old former Soviet Union native signed a general release at the time the picture was taken, she is seeking $10 million in damages for her "great humiliation, embarrassment, emotional distress, shame, mortification and injury to her reputation and career."
We find it awfully convenient that she didn't realize she was in the movie until after it was released in theaters.
Was someone trying to see how much the movie raked in so they could go after more money???

No department or retail store is safe!
First KMart was sued by Coach, now Burberry is out to get TJMaxx.
The British label is suing The TJX Cos, which owns both TJMaxx and Marshalls, for selling large quantities of counterfeits and other products that violate copyright infringement.
In their claim filed with the US District Court in Manhattan, the plaid company says over the last four years their reps have found items like counterfeit polo shirts with hangtags at Marshalls. To be fair Burberry gave them a chance to remove the items, only for the retailer to turn around and continue to sell infringing pieces like jackets, luggage and scarves.
Burberry adds:
"TJX has continued to import, distribute, supply, promote and/or sell large quantities of counterfeit goods bearing one or more of the Burberry marks in conscious disregard of Burberry’s intellectual property rights and the counterfeit nature of the products in an effort to target their customer base and profit at Burberry’s expense."
From the lawsuit The Burb is seeking an injunction, destruction of unauthorized goods, a court order forcing TJX to run corrective ads, legal fees and unspecified damages.
Jeez. Anything else you'd like to add???

After being found guilty of blackmail, Cindy Crawford has issued a statement regarding Edis Kayalar's sentencing.
The supermodel said via her publicist:
"We want to express our gratitude to the FBI, the U.S. District Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles, and the German Law Enforcement Authorities for their coordination and efforts in this case, which resulted in the successful prosecution and incarceration of the perpetrator."
Hopefully the entire family can rest easier knowing the scum bag will be spending the next two years behind bars.
