Friends & Family Help Launch Jessica's Denim Collection

It was a family affair at Tuesday night's launch of Jessica Simpson's denim collection and spring preview.

As we mentioned before, Jessica rounded up all "normal" figured friends to model her newest designs, which included BFF Cacee Cobb, her publicist and long time assistant as well as her younger and not so orange sister Ashlee Simpson.

Even brother-in-law Pete Wentz was there playing DJ.

After emceeing the runway show, which some described as a cattle call, Jessica fed her guests little beers and grilled cheeses.

clASSy, Jess. Real classy.

Ashlee Goes For The Glamour Look

This weekend marked the 2010 Kentucky Derby in Louisville. And as usual, that marked an excuse for celebs and Derby goers to bring out their largest hats.

From cute and fashionable headgear to the just plain tacky, you saw it all. And speaking of tacky, Ashlee Simpson was surprisingly looking pretty good.

Simpson attended the Barnstable Brown Gala Friday night with her hubby Pete Wentz during the 136th Kentucky Derby wearing a black and white ensemble.

For the gala, Ashlee wore a cute Vionnet Yestadt Millinery fringe hat which we actually like.

The following day, the two decided to take a trip back in time for the actual derby and dressed up in matching, vintage looking outfits.

Ashlee Gets Camera Shy At Pete's After Party

Lydia Deets Ashlee Simpson refused to grace the presence of the unfortunate souls that were attending her husband Pete Wentz's Clandestine Industries after party until it was clear of photogs.

According to a source, "Ashlee wouldn't even come down from her room unless assured all the photographers had gone, despite the event being to celebrate her guy's clothing."

Judging by the way she looked, we can't blame her.

Maybe she should have borrowed Pete's Hannibal mask.

But Ashlee's dad Poppa Joe, covers for Ashlee by saying: "This was Pete's special night and Ashlee couldn't have been more proud. She attended the after-party and happily posed for photos."

Suuure she did.

She should have just done the world a favor and stayed in her room.

Pete Wentz was rolled out on the runway a-la Hannibal Lecter Tuesday night while showing off his Clandestine Industries clothing line.

Now if only they could haul him away in real life.
